SEBASTIAN WAS ABOUT to slip into the seat of his car when someone called out, “You’re shutting down early for the night, aren’t you?”

The annoying little bastard just wouldn’t go away.

Sebastian fixed a smile on his face and turned to face him. “Detective Freeman. I was certain I had seen the last of you tonight.”

The detective leaned against the trunk of Sebastian’s car, as if planning on staying a while. He tapped the end of his nose. “My detective’s senses told me there was something off about you, so I decided to hang around for a bit. I thought I might ask you a few more questions before calling it a night.”

Clearly he was never going to be completely free of the annoying little shit, not unless he did something soon. Sebastian grinned as he walked toward Detective Freeman.

“Well, at the moment I’m tired and have decided to give myself an early night, but you’re welcome to join me for breakfast.”
